GEO SEARCH Inc. has received a special contract from the U.S. Air Force, at Yokota Air Base, Japan!
At the “Japan Monozukuri World 2022” exhibition held at Tokyo Big Sight in June, 2022, members of the U.S. Air Force Yokota Air Base visited the GEO SEARCH booth and showed great interest in the GEO SEARCH “Aboveground and Underground Infrastructure 3D Map®,” (DUOMAP) which visualizes underground infrastructure using nondestructive technology and integrates it with aboveground Point Cloud data, as well as Augmented Reality (AR) technology.
The members of Yokota Air Base, who had experience with accidents involving broken underground utilities in the past, were looking for methods to aggregate accurate information on underground infrastructure, as well as capabilities to visualize underground infrastructure in the field in an easy and accessible manner.
On March 8, 2023, at the U.S. Air Force Innovative Technology Contest (USAF Pitch Contest “Spark Tank”), the Yokota Air Base team gave a presentation titled “Infrastructure in an Augmented Reality World” that leveraged their experience with our technology. More than 2,000 stakeholders participated in the contest, and out of the 235 proposals which were submitted from the U.S. Air Force operations throughout the world, the Yokota Air Base team won the prestigious title.

This led to the beginning of a collaboration between the Yokota Air Base team and our company, which aims to solve problems related to underground infrastructure. Our U.S. subsidiary (GEO SEARCH Inc.) has received an order for a project for above-ground and underground infrastructure maps and Augmented Reality under a special discretionary contract, and the demonstration project is currently underway.
As the U.S. military constantly seeks out and incorporates advanced innovative technologies to continuously evolve, we hope that our latest technologies will contribute to the deepening of the Japan-U.S. alliance by contributing to solving challenges facing the U.S. military.
